Five Towns College Men’s Volleyball Joins
NCVF/ECVA For 2020-2021 Season
Dix Hills, NY – Five Towns College Athletic Director Matt Guercio has announced that men’s volleyball will begin competition in the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation and will join the Eastern Collegiate Volleyball Association as a conference member. Five Towns College will begin its first year of competition in 2020-21.
“We are excited to welcome Five Towns College to the ECVA’s North Division in 2020-21 and are particularly pleased that the Five Towns College administration shares our commitment to growing the sport”, stated ECVA Commissioner Neiad Ammary. “The addition of Five Towns College to the ECVA not only strengthens an already competitive division of our league, but it also provides current and future Five Towns College students with an attractive opportunity to compete at a high level and enjoy a rewarding academic and athletic experience.”
The addition of men’s volleyball completes the strategic plan set forth by the athletic department in the fall 2018 and will bring the number of intercollegiate athletic teams at Five Towns College to six.
“We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to join the NCVF and ECVA,” stated Guercio. “I’d like to thank Neiad Ammary and Nicholas Toth (NCVF Vice President/Director of Operations) for their support and guidance through this process. Men’s volleyball is one of the fastest growing sports and will allow us to compete on a regional and national level right away. Our intention is to grow the sport here in Dix Hills.”
