Spring into Spring 2020 @ Five Towns College
Welcome back to a new semester at FTC! We hope the winter break gave you an opportunity to recharge with friends and family in preparation for the excitement and challenges of spring. We have already hit the ground running this year with a number of exciting activities and announcements.
In the Music Division, we are proud to announce that Five Towns College has received a very highly regarded recognition and is now an accredited Institutional Member of the National Association of Music (NASM). Further, the Music Division Guitar Ensemble recently returned from the Jazz Education Network conference in New Orleans after being invited to perform- a pretty awesome accomplishment and not the first time either!! Kudos to Professor Briody and our students.
The Film/Video Division has a few terrific workshops lined up and they are open to all students. The 10th Anniversary of the Luminaries Film Festival is scheduled for the top of May along with an awards ceremony. The Theatre Department has been invited to the American College Theatre Festival, Region 1, to perform their amazing rendition of For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf. In fact, approximately 20 students and faculty are headed there this week. Two spring performances are scheduled, The Wolves and Once Upon a Mattress. Be sure to get tickets as these are usually in high demand.
The Interactive Computer Graphics (ICG) program will feature two sophomores who will be working with the Cradle of Aviation Museum as part of the new ICG Practical Application of Design course, to develop and provide design solutions for the Museum. ICG will also launch a student focused club this semester.
The FTC Sound Athletics has some great games lined up be sure to support your favorite teams and say hi to Fader!
The Administration, Faculty and Staff look forward to seeing you around campus, crowding the athletic spaces, in the classrooms and on stage during performances. Five Towns College supports students in their academic journey and wishes everyone here a successful Spring 2020 Semester!
