STAGE 2018 Winner: Arahmus Brown & The Celestial Project!
Thursday December 6, 2018 was no ordinary night on campus. The hallways were humming, the classrooms were bustling, and the Five Towns College Performing Arts Center was filled with energy and excitement as the last round of the student musical competition a/k/a S.T.A.G.E. was assembling for the finale.
The final S.T.A.G.E. – The Student Talent And Great Entertainment- program (STAGE) at Five Towns College has become the most highly anticipated event here over the past 11 years straight! This time, FTC students, Imani Jenkins and Jayson Troy, hosted the event. The five competing student bands that were finalists included:
(1) The Vibe Tribe, (2) Arahmus Brown & The Celestial Project, (3) Juliana Guerrieri, (4) 1 Way, and (5) Re’Sounding.
In the days leading up to the event, each band practiced around the clock. The talent and dedication of FTC students made this event more exciting than ever! Each round gives students the opportunity to showcase their talents in an encouraging and supportive environment. The semester-long event consists of four rounds, each yielding one winner who automatically qualifies to go to the Final S.T.A.G.E. and compete for the $500 grand prize. The runner-up from each round also had an opportunity to compete in the Redemption Round for one last chance to perform in the Final S.T.A.G.E.
In traditional FTC fashion, industry professionals judged the final competition. This year’s Judges were: Consuelo Sayago, CEO of CribNote Entertainment and Stephanie Strippoli, FTC Alumni and Programming and Planning Assistant at the YMCA Boulton Center for the Performing Arts.
