The Five Towns College Upbeat Café offers a variety of nutritious food that satisfies all palates. Students, faculty, and staff can find menu choices that include hot entrees as well as an assortment of sandwich specialties and salads. The Upbeat Cafe serves three meals a day mid-week, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner in an informal atmosphere that promotes congeniality and the opportunity to establish new and lasting friendships. During the week, often times Jazz Ensembles can be enjoyed during Common Hour.
A more limited dining experience is offered at The Downbeat Student Center. This is primarily for residential students on the weekend evenings. The trendy snacks, delicious desserts, healthy salads and lite meals are enjoyed by all staff and students participating in residence hall or student activities. Catering is available as well.

Meet the Chef: Brian Arbesfeld
Leading the culinary team at the Five Towns College Upbeat Café is the Executive Chef and Director of Food Services Brian Arbesfeld.
A seasoned professional with extensive experience in the culinary field, Brian Arbesfeld is committed to delivering great tasting, high quality food and service to his Five Towns College guests. New to campus, he brings enthusiasm and energy coupled with an expertise in the restaurant and food industry second to none! Check back for new menus and updates!
This is accomplished through regularly scheduled meetings with representatives of the student body in an effort to address concerns, add new menu items, have seasonal offerings, and be responsive to individual requests.
After several years on campus, The Upbeat Café can be counted on to prepare wholesome, fresh, homemade and delicious meals. Unlike other higher education institutions that contract with big corporate entities to provide food services, FTC has identified an incredible and high-quality boutique team of culinary experts. Chef Brian is at the helm supervising and cooking in the Upbeat Cafe’s culinary facilities daily and will be sharing his innovative recipes and menus to campus this semester.
Should you have any concerns or need to arrange catering, stop by the Upbeat and ask for our Executive Chef Brian! He is happy to customize requests and tries hard to please the student body.
